Controlling corporate influence in health policy making? An assessment of the implementation of article 5.3 of the World Health Organization framework convention on tobacco control

SEATCA’s Tobacco Industry Interference Index underlines the importance of the WHO FCTC Parties taking an active and whole-of-government approach to the effective implementation of Article 5.3. Latest research article by Fooks et al show how highly selective and incomplete implementation of specific guideline recommendations facilitates extensive ongoing opportunities for industry policy influence. They recommend a stronger commitment to implementation is required to ensure consistently strong compliance with the FCTC internationally.
